The MCP server answers 401
The token is missing, expired or revoked. Create a new token under Settings, Connected apps and tokens and update the client. A password change revokes all tokens on purpose.
If the client sends the header only on the first request, fix the client configuration: every request needs Authorization: Bearer <token>.
The MCP server answers 403
The JSON body names the reason:
mcp_access_denied: the plan does not include MCP. Upgrade to Pro or higher.account_suspended: the account is banned. Contact support.email_not_verified: verify the e-mail address first.forgejo_not_active: the Forgejo account is not active yet. Verification normally activates it; contact support if it stays inactive.insufficient_scope: the token is not an MCP token.
A tool says "Rate limit reached"
create_repo is limited to 5 repositories per hour per account. Wait for the window to pass, or create the repository in Forgejo directly if you need it sooner.
A repository is read-only
It was archived because the account exceeded the private repository limit. Upgrade the plan or make another repository public, then the next enforcement pass unlocks it. Nothing was deleted.
"Permission denied (publickey)" over SSH
- Confirm the key is added to the right Forgejo account under Settings, SSH / GPG keys.
- Use the SSH clone URL from the repository page. It contains the correct host and port.
- Test the connection with
ssh -Tagainst the same host and port. The server should greet you with your username.
If you use multiple keys, ~/.ssh/config can pin the right one for the host.
Pushes are refused because storage is full
Free space or upgrade the plan. The dashboard shows current usage. Existing repositories stay readable and cloneable.
I did not receive the verification e-mail
Check spam, then request a new link from the notice in the app. If the address is wrong, change it in your profile and verify the new one.
An organisation member cannot push
Check the member's role in Forgejo. Organisation seats are limited by the Business subscription: members beyond the seat count are removed from the organisation, and Forgejo permissions still decide what a remaining member can do.
Adding members happens in Forgejo. The MCP server can only remove them.
Can I move my repositories elsewhere?
Yes. Repositories are standard Git:
git clone --mirror <clone URL>
Issues and pull requests can be imported with Forgejo's migration tool where the source platform supports it. Your account data can be exported as JSON from your profile.
Do you train AI on my data?
No. CodeTrunk does not train models on customer content. See the AI training policy tracker for the public position and sources.
How do I delete my account?
From your profile. Export anything you need first: deletion erases the account and repositories and cannot be undone. See Account and security.
Still stuck?
Mail info@stennmedia.nl with the account username, the exact error, and the time it happened. Do not send tokens or passwords.
